Maureen McCormick is opening up concerning the ways in which her family helped her on the trail to sobriety.
The actress, best called Marcia Brady from “The Brady Bunch,” struggled with drug abuse for years after the long-lasting sitcom ended in 1974. In AN interview with America Weekly, McCormick said things got dangerous enough that her parents nearly turned her into the police.
“They had been attempting for years and knew something was happening,” she said. “I was pretty sneaky and i might hide very, very well. but then I started messing up on jobs so several things, thus I’m positive everybody in the industry at the time knew that i used to be flaking out.”

McCormick, now 62, added that she had her last relapse while dating now-husband Michael cummings (the couple married in 1985), who told her “if you ever do this drug again, I’m gone, i am leaving.”
McCormick would maintain to get sober and is currently at peace. In fact, she honored her late TV mummy Florence Henderson by participating in the american Heart Association’s (AHA) Go Red for girls Red Dress assortment 2017.
The annual show was created to boost awareness on heart disease among girls. in line with AHA, vessel diseases cause one in 3 deaths among girls annually over all cancers combined.
Henderson passed away in late 2016 at age eighty two from heart failure. simply 3 days before her death, she attended a tape of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” to cheer on McCormick, WHO was taking part within the dance competition series.
“[Florence was] someone WHO wished to spread love and laughter,” McCormick told news reporter . “She wanted people, she loved life. She’s born on Valentine’s Day, however excellent, right? She was simply a good woman. somebody i actually admired.”
McCormick had a message for women everybody — one that the ever-doting Henderson would have approved on.
